HCR Law expands office in Shrewsbury

HCR Law has officially opened its new office in Shrewsbury Business Park, satisfying client demand and welcoming local support
HCR Law, a top 50 law firm, has recently settled into its new office at One Anchorage Avenue, Shrewsbury Business Park. This prime location is now home to over 100 companies, collectively employing more than 2,000 individuals. This expansion marks a significant milestone for the firm, arriving shortly after it was recognised as the UK’s leading legal adviser for mergers and acquisitions (M&A) by Experian’s MarketIQ Q1 2026 rankings.
The new office neighbours a diverse range of professional firms and consultancies, including both well-established companies and emerging start-ups. Lynda Richards, HCR Partner and Head of the Shrewsbury Office, expressed enthusiasm for their new location, stating, “We opened an office in Shrewsbury in response to growing client demand and have been delighted with the warm response we’ve received from the town’s business community.”
Alan Hay, Owner and Managing Director at Shrewsbury Business Park, shared his positive experience regarding the negotiations with HCR Law. He remarked, “HCR Law has taken space in probably the best office building in Shrewsbury Business Park, at the Wenlock Road entrance. It was a pleasure to deal with them - tough but fair in all our negotiations. If that is an indication of how they represent their clients, then Shropshire welcomes a formidable new firm of lawyers.”
Russell Gwilliam, representing construction company Matrix IDC, which oversaw the fit-out works for HCR Law’s new offices in just eight weeks, added, “We are delighted to have worked with HCR Law on their new offices and welcome them to Shrewsbury Business Park. They have been a pleasure to work with. We wish them every success in their new home and look forward to seeing them continue to grow within the business community.”
Since opening its doors in January this year, HCR Law’s Shrewsbury office has experienced rapid growth in employee numbers, with the recent addition of new partner Helen Barrett to the residential property team. Barrett joins a robust team of legal professionals including Private Client Partners Lynda Richards and Amy Morris, Corporate Partners Arpinder Dhillon and Jenny Staples, Family Law Partners Victoria Fellows and Hannah Nicholls, as well as Charlotte Nutting, a partner in the Agriculture and Estates Team. The Shrewsbury office is also home to colleagues from teams covering Commercial, Restructuring and Insolvency, Employment and Immigration matters.
HCR Law's recent success and expansion align with its recognition in 2025 as one of the UK’s fastest-growing law firms over the past decade. This latest move into Shrewsbury signals not just growth for the firm, but also a commitment to serving the legal needs of the local community.
