Gamlins Law secures significant settlement

Gamlins Law has achieved a remarkable £25.6 million lump sum settlement for a claimant suffering from profound physical and cognitive disabilities as the result of a work incident that led to premature birth. The High Court’s approval of this settlement marks it as one of the largest ever given in a negligence claim. This significant award, which will provide long-term financial security, addresses the claimant’s comprehensive needs for specialist care, therapies, equipment, accommodation, and wider support throughout their lifetime.

The claimant was represented by Gamlins Law, working closely with Will Waldron KC and Tony Goff of Exchange Chambers. Reflecting on the resolution, Sally Richards, Chartered Legal Executive at Gamlins Law, said “This has been an incredibly important case for the claimant and their family. Initially the defendant vigorously denied any responsibility for the injuries. However, after an admission of liability and causation had been secured, our role was to make sure the full extent of the claimant’s lifelong needs was carefully investigated, properly evidenced and clearly presented.”
