Fieldfisher bolsters pensions practice with key team hire from PwC

By

Fieldfisher, a leading European law firm, has announced a significant expansion of its pensions team by recruiting four lawyers from PwC to bolster its operations in both the London and Manchester offices

The newly integrated team comprises Partner Oliver Reece, Directors Lindsay O'Farrell and Daniel Fowler, and Associate Larisa Gordan. Oliver Reece, who led PwC's pensions legal team for nearly 18 years, joins the London office on April 8th, bringing extensive experience in pensions law and regulation, with a focus on pensions litigation, M&A implications, and group restructurings.

Directors Lindsay O'Farrell and Daniel Fowler will join later in April, with Lindsay based in Manchester and Daniel in London. Lindsay brings over 15 years of experience advising trustee and corporate clients on various pensions law aspects, while Daniel specialises in advising employers and trustees on pension schemes matters, including High Court proceedings and risk management exercises.

Supported by Associate Larisa Gordan, who recently joined the London office, the team's arrival marks Fieldfisher's largest promotions round to date, underscoring the firm's commitment to nurturing talent and expanding its service offerings. David Gallagher, Head of Pensions at Fieldfisher, emphasised the team's technical prowess and business development skills, highlighting their seamless integration into the firm's client-centric ethos.

The strategic move aligns with Fieldfisher's dedication to providing comprehensive legal solutions to its clients, leveraging synergies between the existing pensions team and the new hires' expertise in corporate-focused advisory work. Additionally, both teams share a strong presence in the electricity industry and boast a robust portfolio of trustee clients, paving the way for enhanced collaboration and expanded service capabilities.

David Gallagher expressed excitement about the team's addition, emphasising Fieldfisher's commitment to delivering exceptional client service and maintaining its market-leading position in the pensions arena. Oliver Reece echoed these sentiments, expressing pride in joining Fieldfisher's esteemed pensions team and highlighting the firm's culture, values, and interconnected office network as key factors in their decision to join.

The recruitment of this seasoned team underscores Fieldfisher's strategic focus on talent acquisition and service excellence, setting the stage for continued growth and success in the pensions practice.
