A non-solicitor in charge of alternative business structure (ABS) Coops Law has been banned from owning or working in ABSs in future, fined £20,000 and ordered to pay £1,350 in costs after failing to the protect clients he acquired via an acquisition. Coops Law bought the business of Asons Solicitors Limited for £229,534 in March 2017, just prior to Asons being placed into administration. Irfan Akram of Coops Law was also the brother of the legacy firm's boss Imran Akram. 23 April 2020
