Express Solicitors rises in UK 200

Express Solicitors has achieved a remarkable leap in The Lawyer UK 200 rankings, reflecting impressive growth
The Lawyer UK 200 list of top law firms has recently been unveiled, showcasing the impressive progress of Express Solicitors. This personal injury law firm has climbed to an impressive number 60, moving up four places from its previous ranking of 64 in 2025. This advancement comes in light of the firm’s remarkable financial achievements, with confirmed turnover reaching a record £117.2 million for the financial year ending August 2026, a significant increase from last year’s £87.1 million. The results include £18.5 million in turnover from the sister company Ontime Reports, which itself saw an increase from £14.8 million in the previous year.
This surge in revenue has positioned Express Solicitors seventh in The Lawyer’s ranking of firms showing the highest revenue growth. A critical factor in this success has been the private equity investment received in November 2025 from Swiss-based Ufenau Capital Partners. This investment has enabled the firm to pursue its buy-and-build strategy successfully. CEO James Maxey has acknowledged the contribution of the entire team, stating “Our new standing in The Lawyer UK 200 is testament to the hard work and dedication from everyone at Express Solicitors.” He continued to highlight the firm’s recent acquisitions, saying “This year so far we have acquired three law firms, Aegis Legal, Smooth Law Ltd, which includes the brand Sorrymate, and Recovery Assist, and we expect to have two or three more deals to be completed by the end of the year.”
The Lawyer’s assessment reflects the firm’s evolution, indicating that “Express Solicitors has evolved from being a regional claimant practice into one of the most aggressive consolidators in the personal injury sector.” The publication acknowledges the vital role of private equity in facilitating this growth. Furthermore, Express Solicitors recently honoured its employees with a new round of promotions, with 71 staff members elevated within the firm and Ontime Reports. As growth continues, the firm remains on the lookout for new talent, encouraging prospective applicants to explore career opportunities on their careers page.
