Express Solicitors acquires Aegis Legal Ltd

Express Solicitors has acquired Aegis Legal Ltd, enhancing its capabilities and expanding its national reach
Express Solicitors has strengthened its position in the personal injury sector with the acquisition of Aegis Legal Ltd, a strategic move that further expands the firm’s national reach and enhances its specialist legal services offering. This acquisition marks a significant step in Express Solicitors’ ongoing growth strategy by bringing additional expertise, resources, and client support capabilities into the business.
Aidan Wilcox and Janet Keating, the managing directors of Aegis Legal, are retiring, and the remaining staff will join Express as part of this deal. CEO of Express Solicitors James Maxey said “This acquisition reflects our commitment to investing in high quality legal services and expanding our ability to support injured people across the country. Aegis Legal has built a strong reputation for client care and specialist expertise, and we are delighted to welcome the team into the Express Solicitors family.”
Ian Bevan, Director at Aegis Legal Ltd, added “Joining Express Solicitors represents an exciting new chapter for our team and our clients. We share a common ethos of delivering exceptional service and achieving the best possible outcomes for those we represent. This move ensures our clients will benefit from even greater resources and support.”
Clients of Aegis Legal will continue to receive uninterrupted service, with their cases transitioning seamlessly to Express Solicitors’ systems. The integration process is already in progress, with both firms collaborating closely to ensure a smooth experience for clients and staff. The acquisition of Aegis Legal marks Express Solicitors’ first deal of 2026 and is complemented by a slight restructuring at the progressive law firm as it gears up for further acquisitions.
The integration of the previous two acquisitions, HNK Solicitors and Graham Coffey & Co, saw Ryan Postlethwaite become Partner – Head of Compliance and Business Delivery. In preparation for the next set of acquisitions, another new appointment has been established: RTA Partner Adele Greenough will assume the role of Integration Partner to facilitate the integration of new firms into Express Solicitors.
Maxey concluded “We’ll soon be announcing our next deal and we’re working on others, our strategy is very firmly focused on acquisition-based expansion, supported by the investment we secured from Ufenau Capital Partners at the end of last year.” The addition of Aegis Legal to the Express Solicitors group will increase the overall headcount to around 980, marking a significant milestone in the firm’s growth journey.
