Eversheds Sutherland opens new San Francisco office

The firm has nine US offices

Top 10 global law firm Eversheds Sutherland has announced the official opening of its new office space in downtown San Francisco. The firm launched in San Francisco in March 2022 with experienced transactional lawyer Baird Fogel as partner-in-charge.

Eversheds Sutherland has nine offices in the US. Since 2019, in addition to San Francisco, it has also opened new offices in Chicago and San Diego. The firm has reported the San Francisco office has grown steadily since opening, and serves a range of practice areas and sectors, including corporate/M&A, data privacy, product counselling, energy, insurance, technology and sports.

The new office is located in the heart of the city’s financial district at 101 California. Eversheds Sutherland said the announcement is part of the firm's goal to expand its US presence and become one of the top business, technology and legal markets in the country, while creating new opportunities to strengthen its capabilities and worldwide footprint.

With the global support of Eversheds Sutherland's international partners, who have significant client relationships in Northern California, the new space supports the growing needs of the firm's international clients and teams.

Eversheds Sutherland’s managing partner, Alan Connell, commented: “We are very excited by this development and the overall extension of our worldwide footprint. With our multidisciplinary expertise and diverse practices here in Ireland, we are the standout law firm of choice for internationally-focused companies and financial institutions doing business in and from Ireland.

“Our global footprint, now further enhanced by our new and strong presence in one of the top business, technology and legal markets in the US, means we are on hand as “a one-stop-shop” to assist our clients on all their legal and tax requirements, as they seek to expand their operations in and from Ireland – we can leverage the legal and tax expertise of our talented colleagues in our offices across the globe, now encompassing over 70 offices in more than 30 countries.”

Co-CEO of Eversheds Sutherland, Mark Wasserman, said: “Our efficient space was designed to foster collaboration among our lawyers and our clients and is in a vibrant location surrounded by spectacular views from the Golden Gate to Bay bridges.”
