In a somewhat less than surprise move last month, the Lord Chancellor Robert Buckland QC confirmed that the whiplash reforms would be delayed until April 2021. In a written statement, Buckland blamed the unprecedented affect that covid-19 has had on legal, insurance and medical sectors. However, cynics may be inclined to remind us that this is the third deferral of the scheme, which was originally tabled to launch in April 2019.
