Ellisons boosts residential property team

Ellisons has appointed Sarah Osborne as a Senior Associate, enhancing their leasehold enfranchisement expertise
Ellisons has bolstered its Residential Property team with the addition of Sarah Osborne as a Senior Associate at their Bury St Edmunds office. With over 16 years of specialised experience in leasehold enfranchisement, Sarah is adept at advising clients on lease extensions, freehold purchases, and right to manage claims. She has worked with a diverse array of clients, from individual flat owners to residential management companies and property investors, effectively managing technically complex engagements.
Her joining comes at a pivotal moment in the leasehold sector, as recent reforms and ongoing uncertainties heighten the demand for specialised insights. Sarah is committed to keeping a close watch on developments impacting leaseholders, landlords, and lenders, ensuring that clients receive tailored support as market conditions evolve.
Carly Callaghan, Legal Director and Head of Residential Property at Ellisons, remarked, “Sarah’s appointment is an important one for our clients. Leasehold enfranchisement is a highly technical area and, against the backdrop of continuing reform, clients need clear, specialist advice they can trust. Sarah brings deep expertise and a practical, client-focused approach, which strengthens our ability to guide clients confidently through complex enfranchisement matters and help them make informed decisions.”
In response to her new role, Sarah Osborne stated, “Ellisons has a strong reputation for residential property work and for providing clear, practical advice. Leasehold enfranchisement can be unfamiliar and stressful for many clients, and I am looking forward to working with the team to help clients understand their options and move forward with confidence.”
Her track record includes representing clients before the First-tier Tribunal and the County Court, dealing with various enfranchisement issues like disputed rights of way and rooftop development. Sarah's outstanding knowledge and straightforward approach to legal advice have earned her recognition as a Rising Star in the Legal 500.
Before becoming a solicitor in 2013, Sarah qualified as a Licensed Conveyancer and contributed her expertise as a member of the Council for Licensed Conveyancers. Her recruitment further augments Ellisons’ capabilities in the ever-evolving realm of residential property, particularly in this specialised area
