DWF has appointed experienced insurance lawyer David Kennedy as a partner in its Dublin office.
DWF, a global leader in integrated legal and business services, has made a significant addition to its Dublin office with the appointment of David Kennedy as a partner. Transitioning from DAC Beachcroft, David is a dual-qualified lawyer in Ireland and England & Wales and possesses over 18 years of experience in the insurance sector. His background includes advising on various claims, including employers’, public, product, and motor liability, as well as property liability claims and coverage disputes. He has built a considerable reputation within the Irish insurance market, having worked with both London market and domestic insurers, in addition to several high-profile corporate clients.
David Kennedy's arrival is a notable moment for DWF, reinforcing the firm's commitment to growth and development in Ireland. It represents the addition of a fourth partner to DWF's new partner team, which has been expanding steadily in response to a robust demand for legal services in the insurance field. The recent recruitment drive follows the hiring of partner Anthony Baker and four directors from DAC Beachcroft, highlighting DWF’s ambition to strengthen its standing in the casualty practice area.
James Colville, the Managing Partner of DWF in Ireland, expressed enthusiasm about David's appointment, stating “It is fantastic to be working with David again, and I am absolutely delighted to welcome him to DWF. His experience and reputation in the market will further strengthen our casualty offering and give us significant momentum as we continue to grow our work with insurers.” He noted that exciting times are ahead for the Dublin office, underlining the positive growth trajectory and the potential for further team expansion.
In response to his new role, David Kennedy remarked “I am really excited to be joining DWF. The firm already has a strong Casualty team and an excellent client base, and I am looking forward to working with James, the partners and the wider team to build on that success and further grow DWF’s offering to the insurance sector in Ireland and beyond.” This appointment promises to enhance DWF’s capability to support clients across the UK and Ireland, solidifying its position in a competitive market.
