DWF raids Keoghs for Southampton base

DWF sets up new UK insurance practice with Keogh's team

Listed-firm DWF is to launch a new UK insurance practice in Southampton with a 13-strong team from rival firm Keoghs.

It will be the firm’s eleventh UK office and takes its total presence to 32 locations worldwide.

It is also the first major strategic move since Sir Nigel Knowles took over leadership of the firm from Andrew Leaitherland in June.

The new team will specialise in catastrophic and serious injury work and includes Keoghs partners Rachel Coombs, Sarah Parker and Stuart Giddings.

In June the firm said it would be closing its Brussels and Singapore offices, while reducing its presence in locations such as Dubai and Cologne. Instead it said it would be focusing on “more profitable growth”.

Despite a sharp fall in its share price over the summer, and a £600,000 loss in the quarter to 31 July, DWF has reported signed of recovery more recently.
