Dentons hires partner to boost capital markets

Megan Schellinger joins Dentons in London to enhance the firm's capital markets expertise across regions
Dentons has announced the recruitment of Megan Schellinger as a capital markets partner in its London office. This strategic move is part of the firm's ongoing 'Golden Thread' strategy, which aims to cultivate deeper client relationships and secure greater shares of complex multi-jurisdictional mandates. Megan's appointment is a testament to Dentons' commitment to enhancing its US securities and international capital markets capabilities across diverse regions, including continental Europe, Central and Eastern Europe, the Middle East, and Africa.
Megan joins Dentons from Baker McKenzie, having also previously worked at Linklaters, and she brings with her extensive experience in capital markets. She has advised both corporate issuers and investment banks on various matters, including Rule 144A and SEC-registered offerings, private placements, as well as international debt, equity, and equity-linked securities. Her background covers a wide array of equity capital markets transactions, such as IPOs, rights issues, and block trades.
With a wealth of experience in regions like Türkiye, the Caucasus, Georgia, Poland, and broader Central and Eastern Europe, Megan's expertise is set to strengthen Dentons’ already leading capital markets platform. This addition comes at a time when demand for sophisticated US securities and cross-border financing advice is on the rise. Dentons recently garnered recognition, receiving three 'Deals of the Year' awards from CEE Legal Matters for its advisory work on significant financings in Georgia, Albania, and the Czech Republic.
Paul Jarvis, the CEO of Dentons' UK, Ireland and Middle East (UKIME) region, highlighted the importance of this recruitment, stating "Our continued investment in capital markets reflects the growing client demand for sophisticated US securities and international financing advice across Europe and the Middle East. Megan's arrival undoubtedly strengthens our ability to support clients on complex international transactions."
In a similar vein, Nick Hayday, Head of UK Banking and Financial Services and Global Co-Chair for the Banking & Finance Group, emphasized the need for US securities expertise within international capital markets practices. He remarked, "US securities expertise is a must for international capital markets practices, and complex financings across the capital markets, especially in the CEE, Middle East and Africa." He also expressed enthusiasm over the integration of Dentons' pan-European and Middle East capital markets teams, calling it a significant success story.
Megan Schellinger herself has expressed optimism about her new role, stating, "Dentons has built a really impressive capital markets platform across Europe and the Middle East supported by continued investment in US securities and international financing capability. Clients increasingly require advice that combines deep technical expertise with the seamless application of local knowledge on a platform that can cover multiple jurisdictions and Dentons is exceptionally well placed to deliver both. I'm looking forward to joining the team and helping clients to navigate the challenges and opportunities they face."
