Litigants in civil cases are entitled to receive their judgments in a reasonably short period of time, which should be no longer than three months, the Court of Appeal ruled. In Bank St Petersburg PJSC v Arkhangelsky [2020] EWCA Civ 408, judgment was given 22 months after the trial '“ an 'inexcusable delay' that denied justice to the winning party. Sir Geoffrey Voz said any other approach would lead to a loss of public and business confidence in the justice system. Such a delay should not be tolerated. 18 March
