University of Law set to offer courses for legal execs who seek additional practice rights

CILEx Regulation has appointed the University of Law to run its alternative route to authorisation for chartered legal executives seeking additional practice rights. Executives with limited experience, or who wish to change practice area, will be able to take a course with the University of Law. After completion of a pilot phase, an application will be made to the LSB to finalise scheme rules. Subject to LSB approval, it is expected the route will open in early 2022 to all chartered legal executives with more than five years’ qualifying employment.
