Browne Jacobson joins government legal panel

Browne Jacobson has been appointed to the Government Commercial Agency's legal panel for public sector services, enhancing its role in advising various public sector organisations
The law firm has been named as a supplier on Lots 1a, 1b, 1c, 2, 3, 4 and 6 of the RM6374 Legal Panel framework, which encompasses a spectrum of legal specialisms including litigation, public-private partnerships, infrastructure, property, public procurement, costs, commercial, contracts and employment. This panel allows public sector entities across various domains such as health, education and local governments to appoint law firms for ad-hoc projects.
The Government Commercial Agency (GCA), which was established in April 2026, aims to streamline procurement processes to better serve public and private sectors, ultimately benefiting citizens. GCA amalgamates the Crown Commercial Services and central commercial teams from the Cabinet Office to create efficiencies that redirect valuable resources into essential services.
Anja Beriro, Partner in the government team at Browne Jacobson overseeing GCA work, stated, “This is an important panel appointment for our firm that reflects our strengths in a wide range of complex legal work across the whole public sector.” Furthermore, she expressed excitement about engaging with more opportunities through their ongoing collaboration with GCA, noting their experience in providing guidance to public sector organisations on significant projects and everyday policy matters.
This latest addition to Browne Jacobson's government panel appointments follows its designation to the Crown Commercial Services legal panel for government in October 2025, through which the firm has assisted the Department for Transport and the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs. Additionally, Browne Jacobson was reappointed to the Welsh Government Commercial Delivery legal services panel in March 2025, where it has contributed to high-profile projects including the Covid-19 Inquiry and the development of renewable energy initiatives.
Browne Jacobson's esteemed client base in the government sector includes prominent organisations such as Homes England, NHS England, Health and Safety Executive, and the Department for Work and Pensions, among others, reflecting the firm's strong footing in the public legal landscape.
