Magic circle firm, Slaughter and May, has appointed its first ever chief operating officer (COO).

Jill Hoseason, currently glocal chief operating officer at Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer, will join the firm on 1 February.

Hoseason will oversee Slaughters’ operational activities and will provide support to the firm’s recently appointed managing partner, Deborah Finkler. Finkler will step into her role on 1 May 2022, following the planned retirements of practice partner David Wittman and executive partner Paul Stacey.
