8PP bolsters advocacy team with new solicitor

8PP Barristers & Associates welcomes solicitor Ebube Akpamgbo to enhance its advocacy capabilities across various sectors
8PP Barristers & Associates has enhanced its advocacy team with the appointment of solicitor Ebube Akpamgbo, who brings significant expertise in housing disrepair, consumer credit, and civil litigation. Joining from Quest Legal Advocates, Ebube has a robust background representing clients in trials and hearings across numerous civil litigation matters. His extensive experience includes dealings in housing disrepair, tenancy deposit disputes, debt recovery, personal injury cases, and credit hire claims. At 8PP, he will concentrate on housing disrepair and consumer credit, aligning with the chambers' dedication to delivering accessible, specialised advocacy services to solicitors across the UK.
Ebube's appointment adds a distinct mix of courtroom advocacy and commercial legal knowledge to the team. His previous roles include contracts with international law firm Brown Rudnick LLP in its finance team and Mills & Reeve LLP, where he worked on commercial contracts, corporate reorganisation, governance, and data protection. A graduate of the University of Cambridge, he holds an LLM from Trinity College, awarded the Lizette Bentwich Prize for Excellent Performance. He also graduated from the Nigerian Law School with First Class honours, ranking among the top 0.1% of approximately 6,000 students. After being called to the Nigerian Bar in 2021, he was subsequently admitted as a Solicitor of England and Wales in 2025.
Craig Leigh, Barrister & 8PP’s Managing Director, expressed enthusiasm about Ebube’s addition, noting that "Ebube's appointment reflects our continued investment in developing our advocacy team and strengthening the services we provide to instructing solicitors." He further stated that "His practical advocacy experience, particularly in housing disrepair and related civil litigation, will be valuable as we continue to develop these areas of our practice." Leigh also commented on the added perspective brought by Ebube’s broader commercial experience and academic credentials, expressing anticipation for supporting him as he develops his practice at 8PP.
On his new role, Ebube remarked, "I was attracted to 8PP by its strong advocacy model and its commitment to delivering a high standard of service in areas that closely align with my experience." He added, "I particularly value the firm's approach to balancing courtroom advocacy with drafting and case preparation, while maintaining close working relationships across the team." Ebube concluded by expressing his eagerness to collaborate with seasoned barristers and solicitors, stating his commitment to contributing to the ongoing growth of the chambers and the services offered to clients.
