Senior lawyers must make clear that the careers of the most junior lawyers will not be negatively impacted by Covid-19, the Young Legal Aid Lawyers (YLAL) said. The group called for immediate action from government, chambers and law firms Three-month ban on eviction proceedings across the country to protect junior legal aid lawyers from Covid-19. The group warned that members risk serious and urgent cash flow issues; and young lawyers will feel the financial impacts harder than senior lawyers. It called for measures to protect members from the effect of loss of earnings and reduced job security. It wants all in-person court hearings to stop to reduce exposure to the disease and hold telephone and video hearings. 22 March
