Government has “finally seen sense and decided against further reform” – Qamar Anwar, First4Lawyers

The government has published its consultation response on ‘whiplash’ claims reforms. Qamar Anwar, managing director of First4Lawyers, welcomed the response, though said it had been “a long time coming”. He said the government had “finally seen sense and decided against further reform” and said it would be “madness” to force more change on the sector. “While the government’s intention was to eliminate the need for lawyers, data shows it has had quite the opposite effect with around 90% of people still seeking legal assistance before bringing a claim”.
