VULNERABLE TENANTS

A stay on evictions of tenants has been extended to 23 August, a move welcomed by the Law Society President who called it an 'important step to protect vulnerable tenants during the uncertain time'. The temporary protection from eviction measures were introduced on 26 March and gives vulnerable tenants much-needed time to get the support they need when they are particularly at financial risk during the pandemic. Government has said it will introduce new court rules to protect vulnerable tenants from eviction when the stay is lifted. 9 June 2020
