Unregistered barrister disbarred

An independent disciplinary tribunal has ordered unregistered barrister Syed Idnaan Ali to be disbarred after the Bar Standards Board brought professional misconduct charges. In 2018, Ali dishonestly provided legal services when not authorised to do so. He offered to prepare a judicial review claim; produced false evidence it had been prepared; used a false client address; and become rude and aggressive in a meeting. The tribunal found Ali failed to act with honesty and integrity, and had behaved in a way likely to diminish public trust and confidence.
