Trainee solicitor Sunil Shingadia was given a slap on the wrist by the Solicitors Regulation Authority (SRA) and ordered to pay £600 in costs after asking a client to pay money into his personal account before retracting the request. Shingadia was employed as a trainee at Chancellors Solicitors in Birmingham between 2 May 2017 and 28 August 2018 but is not currently employed at a regulated firm. Asking the client to make the transfer to his personal count instead of the client account breached SRA Principles 4, 5 and 6. 7 August 2020
