Plans to broadcast the sentencing remarks of senior judges in criminal cases, and judgments and advocates' arguments in selected family proceeding, have received cross-party support in the House of Lords. Debating the Crown Court (Recording and Broadcasting) Order 2020, Tory peer Lord Bourne expressed concern 'about the potential for celebrity judges'.
