Stamp duty rush

The Law Society has cautioned conveyancers to manage client expectations ahead of the expiry of the stamp duty holiday, which is still on track for 31 March. According to Rightmove, some 100,000 buyers will miss out on stamp duty savings. The Society said for new instructions received now, some realism is needed. President David Greene said: “The volume of transactions already waiting to go through mean people should not have unrealistic hopes about the prospects of starting a new transaction now and completing before 31 March.”
