The tech company appoints Andrew Booth as VP of Technology in 16 internal promotions

SmartSearch, the UK's premier provider of digital compliance and anti-money laundering (AML) software, has announced the promotion of Andrew Booth to the position of Vice President of Technology. This move is part of a broader wave of 16 internal promotions within the nearly 200-strong SmartSearch team.

Having been with SmartSearch for over five years, Andrew previously served as the Head of Technology. In his new role, he will assume greater responsibilities, overseeing the company's infrastructure, internal technology strategy, and service delivery across teams. This includes steering the development and delivery of the SmartSearch product, a next-generation digital compliance platform.

Andrew's promotion recognises his pivotal role in shaping and deploying SmartSearch's advanced digital compliance platform, catering to critical individual and business verification checks, robust screening for global sanctions, and politically-exposed-persons (PEPs). The latest platform iteration boasts enhanced automation, audit-ready capabilities, and innovative features like source of funds technology.

Trusted by over 6,500 client firms and 60,000 users, the SmartSearch platform enables users to conduct detailed checks swiftly, ensuring compliance with stringent AML regulations. Notable clients include a significant presence among the UK's top law and accountancy firms, property companies, and leading global financial services firms.

Expressing his enthusiasm for the new role, Andrew Booth stated, "The company has long been synonymous for innovation and cutting-edge compliance technology, and I'm incredibly proud to continue playing my part."

Andrew's promotion is part of a broader trend within SmartSearch, which is approaching a team size of 200. The company has also acknowledged and rewarded excellence in its technology division with a new Head of Service Delivery and a Service Desk Manager. Beyond technology, promotions span various departments, including marketing, sales, market engagement, business support, and customer success.

Collette Allen, COO of SmartSearch, commended the promotions, stating, "Our people and our technology are two of the key pillars behind our continued growth and success." She emphasised SmartSearch's commitment to recognising and developing talent, ensuring a blend of internal promotions and external hires for a well-rounded approach.

SmartSearch's dedication to talent development aligns with its mission to protect people and businesses globally from money laundering and fraud. The company's focus on both internal talent growth and external perspectives has contributed to high customer satisfaction scores and the retention of its prestigious Great Place To Work accreditation.
