The Law Society and the SRA, collectively the Law Society Group (LSG), have reported a tiny improvement in their gender pay gap this year. The 2019 median pay gap was reported to be 8.3 per cent, a 0.7 per cent improvement on the previous year. The mean pay gap, which is generally seen to be a less representative measure, was 10.6 per cent '“ a 2.1 per cent closing of the gap compared with 2018. Though the change yearon-year is unremarkable, the pair are doing far better than the UK median pay gap overall of 17.3 per cent. An LSG spokesperson acknowledged: 'The main reason for the Group gender pay gap is the continued imbalance of male and female colleagues in executive director roles.' 19 February
