The new chief will take over in March

Nick Goodwin will become Chief Executive of HM Courts and Tribunal Service (HMCTS) in March 2022 following the retirement of interim chief executive Kevin Sadler. Goodwin is currently chief executive of the Office for the Public Guardian. His appointment was approved by the Prime Minister following an open competition. Before becoming the Public Guardian in 2019, he was Director for Access to Justice policy at the Ministry of Justice. Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Justice, Antonia Romeo, said Goodwin would lead “with energy and integrity”.
