National Crime Agency publishes guidance on Suspicious Activity Reports

New guidance on submitting better quality SARs

The UK’s National Crime Agency (NCA) published guidance on submitting better quality Suspicious Activity Reports (SARs) on 9 March, which relates to the submission of SARs pursuant to the Proceeds of Crime Act 2022 or the Terrorism Act 2000. The guidance includes sections on the following: how to submit a SAR, the basic structure of a SAR, obtaining a defence against money laundering or terrorist financing, general guidance, good practice tips, examples, and SAR glossary codes.
