The Solicitors Regulation Authority (SRA) has revealed significant differences in the successful completion rates between LPC providers. According to a quality assurance report by the regulator covering the 12 months to August 2018, pass rates for LPC providers varied between 100 per cent to 29 per cent. Overall, LPC success rates fell to 56 per cent compared to 66 per cent in the previous 12-month period. The SRA pointed to potential factors influencing pass rates, such as candidate ability and engagement, teaching quality and assessment arrangements. It also revealed black and minority ethnic (BAME) students are less likely to successfully complete the LPC and the Common Professional Examination. 13 January
