A former law firm senior partner who admitted stealing just under £2m from clients and charities has been struck off the roll. Hugh Lansdell of Norfolk firm Hansells stole the money between August 2015 and July 2017 from the firm's client account; from the accounts of individuals for whom he was acting under a power of attorney; and from private trusts and charities. Lansdell claimed to have been duped into believing he had won more than £1.8m in a lottery and was required to pay substantial sums to release the winnings '“ which he funded by plundering the accounts. 21 June 2019
