LOCKDOWN LAW
By Nicola Laver
A Law Society report entitled Law Under Lockdown has suggested that the response to the covid-19 crisis has left some of the most vulnerable people isolated without proper access to solicitors. The report referred particularly to those detained in custody, patients sectioned under the Mental Health Act and victims of domestic abuse. The report said: 'The threat of further waves of this pandemic makes it essential that lessons are learned and put into practice so that responses to future emergencies may be improved.' 25 September 2020
