A £1.25bn financial package to protect the UK's tech innovation firms should be available to legal innovators, according to the Law Society. President Simon Davis said: 'Every £1 spent on legal services supports nearly £1.50 in spending across the entire UK economy, making technological innovation an important driver of wider growth.' On 20 April, the chancellor announced the package to protect firms driving innovation through the crisis. It includes a £500m investment fund for high-growth companies comprising funding from government and the private sector; with £750m in grants and loans available to SMEs focusing on research and development. 20 April 2020
