Legal industry turnover

2021 was a record year for the legal industry

Office of National Statistics data has revealed UK legal industry turnover jumped to £41.6bn in 2021, up 11.5 per cent on 2020 and up 7.2 per cent month on month, which bucked other sectors’ figures. However, all combined sectors saw a month on month 1.3 per cent decrease for December, most likely due to government covid-19 restrictions. Kingsley Napley partner, Julie Norris, warned: “Firm leaders should not let these strong numbers distract them from the importance of supporting staff, attracting talent and continued regulatory oversight during the months ahead”.
