LAWYER ATTACKS

More than 800 lawyers across all branches of the profession, legal academics and retired judges have collectively called on the prime minister and the home secretary Priti Patel to JLD welcomes SDT finding that a junior solicitor's mental ill-health amounted to exceptional circumstances apologise for their 'display of hostility' towards lawyers and refrain from such attacks in future. In a letter to the Guardian newspaper, they said these attacks endanger lawyers' personal safety and that of others working for the justice system, and that they undermine the rule of law which ministers and lawyers are duty bound to uphold. 26 October 2020
