Law Society and Bar Council sign MoU with the Bar Council of India

The agreement aims to strengthen cooperation and legal exchange
The Law Society of England and Wales, the Bar Council of England and Wales and the Bar Council of India signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) on 5 June, in order to strengthen cooperation and legal exchange as India begins to open up its legal services sector to foreign lawyers. According to the agreement, the Bar Council of India has committed to implementing the regulations to permit the practice of home jurisdiction law by English and Welsh lawyers and law firms in India, on the basis of reciprocity.
