Research finds high levels of poor treatment by employers

National trade union centre, the TUC, and charity, Long Covid Support, published a joint research report on 27 March on worker’s experience of long covid, which finds ‘shockingly high levels of poor treatment by employers’. The research, which is based on responses from over 3,000 individuals suffering from long covid, recommends that the government ensure that everyone with long covid is protected under the law by strengthening the Equality Act 2010 to specify that long covid is a disability. Two thirds of the respondents reported that they had experienced one or more types of unfair treatment at work in relation to long covid.
