Flint Bishop sets sights on growth

Flint Bishop has surpassed £40m in revenue and aims for further expansion as part of its strategy to become a Top 100 UK law firm
The national law firm reported a revenue of £43m for the year ending 30 April 2026, a dramatic increase from £31.7m the year before and £20.7m in 2024. This impressive growth marks more than a doubling in size over two years, achieved while still maintaining zero external debt. The firm’s headcount has increased to a record 452, with 127 new joiners over the past year.
Describing this period as a “step change”, Flint Bishop attributed its growth to a structured approach that embraced acquisitions, lateral hires, and substantial investment, allowing enhanced capability and a strengthened client base. The result has been an influx of new clients and practice areas, bolstered relationships, and continued growth driven by demand from both national brands and regional clients.
A significant milestone in this expansion was Flint Bishop’s entry into the North of England after integrating Lupton Fawcett, leading to the establishment of offices in Leeds, Sheffield, and York, which improved both its Business and Private Client service lines.
In addition to its strong financial results, the firm has invested heavily in its platform with strategic acquisitions and IT enhancements, ensuring that its operations are designed for growth. Record levels of promotions and training contracts have been awarded, and this year saw the largest cohort ever enrolled in the Flint Bishop Law Academy, aimed at nurturing emerging legal talent and supporting professional development throughout their careers.
Chief Executive Qamer Ghafoor noted that “This has been a defining year for Flint Bishop. Breaking through the £40m mark is a major milestone, but what matters most is the strength, depth, and ambition of our people, who have made this growth possible.” He further elaborated on their plans, stating, “Our continued expansion is a deliberate and structured strategy. Scaling the business and expertise will ensure we have the capability and capacity to meet rising client demand.”
With an eye on future growth, Flint Bishop is targeting revenues exceeding £50m for FY27. Ghafoor emphasised, “We enter the new financial year from a position of strength, with a clear focus on building out our key support functions, including IT, finance, HR, operations, recruitment, and compliance.” He continued, “As we scale, we will continue to prioritise quality, consistency, and discipline across the business.” The firm’s dedication to responsible expansion prioritises investment in people, technology, and client relationships to enhance value while cultivating a thriving workplace.
