FABRICATED LETTER

By

Solicitor Mark Henry David Payne, admitted in 1987, was charged with numerous breaches of the Solicitors Code of Conduct in relation to financial transactions including: telling a client that he had invested funds in AXA bonds, when he had not, and without authority using money belonging to one client for another client in an unrelated matter. He also created and fabricated a letter purporting to be written by another firm of solicitors stating that the firm was acting for AXA when he knew it was not. The Solicitors Disciplinary Tribunal ordered him to be struck off. 3 May 2019
