The adoption of the final guidelines follows a public consultation

The European Data Protection Board (EDPB) adopted the final version of its guidelines on facial recognition technology in the area of law enforcement on 17 May, which provides guidance to lawmakers and law enforcement authorities on the implementation and use of facial technology systems.
