Claimants at employment tribunals face an average delay of nine months before their hearing date, according to employment firm GQ Littler. The average wait time has increased by 20 per cent on the previous year and 44 per cent in the past five years. The firm added that as of 31 March this year, the backlog of single claims was 31,693 '“ up from 26,664 a year previously and the highest level since 2010. A wave of covid-19-related employment claims is expected soon. 21 September 2020
