Solicitors and members of the public may use the newly launched service

Solicitors and members of the public may now make subject access requests (SARs) using a newly launched digital service. Information held by the Legal Aid Agency and other parts of the Ministry of Justice (MoJ) may be requested. A successful pilot was run in 2021, during which time the MoJ said efficiency was improved (requests were accepted as valid 81 per cent of the time); two-thirds of solicitors were satisfied or very satisfied with the new process; and, following feedback, guidance on how to use the service was made clearer.
