In a statement to the Welsh Assembly, Welsh first minister Mark Drakeford has pledged to take action on the findings of a report from the Commission of Justice in Wales calling for greater devolution to improve the legal landscape in the country. 'What this report tells us is that there are real and insurmountable practical challenges which flow from the division of responsibilities between Westminster and Wales', he said. The report, published in October, called on the Welsh government to implement a strategy to 'reinvigorate the rural and post-industrial legal sector' in Wales, including boosting legal technology and teaching the business of law to all law students in Wales. 6 November 2019
