Wiltshire-based solicitor Richard Griffiths has piled in on criticism of the government over delays in the criminal justice system, dubbing it 'a shambles'. Griffith's tirade, reported on the Wiltshire Times website, follows similar complaints from local lawyer Rob Ross. In a letter to HM Court and Tribunal Service, Griffiths said: 'A properly functioning judicial system that deals in a timely and fair manner with criminal cases and civil cases alike is a cornerstone of any liberal democracy. The stakes are therefore extremely high.' 27 August 2020
