November 2021 figures have confirmed backlogs remain

The latest available HMCTS figures for November 2021 have revealed backlogs remain in the courts, with 58,728 cases outstanding in the Crown Court and 372,654 cases in the magistrates’ courts. But what we do know as we begin 2022 is that long delays in trials coming to court remain”.
