The Co-op's legal services arm has reported a 165% growth in profits for the year ending 4 January 2020. The big-name alternative business structure (ABS) reported turnover of £40.1m, alongside pre-tax profits of £6.1m, compared to £34.9m and £2.3m respectively the previous year. Co-op Legal Services got off to a shaky start when it launched in 2012 but has recovered by focusing on probate and estate planning. Managing director Caoilionn Hurley said it was 'well placed to deal with the challenges presented by the personal injury small claims reforms.' 24 April 2020
