Sofia Tayton and Alex Robinson have been made partner at Lodders Solicitors after starting as trainees 12 years ago.

Tayton, who writes a regular feature on care and capacity for Private Client Adviser, joined the firm in October 2001 and was appointed an associate in July 2008.

She heads the care and capacity team and is one of a few UK practitioners appointed to the panel of deputies of the Office of Public Guardian.

Robinson started as a secretary in December 2001, deciding to follow a different career having gained a Master's degree in Classics.

She was the first legal executive to be promoted to associate at Lodders. Her specialist areas include agricultural and rural property transactions and the property aspects of trusts and estate planning.

The new promotions bring Lodders' partner count to 23.

Senior partner David Lodder said: "Lodders is keen to recognise talent and in appointing Sofia and Alex, we are demonstrating that this is a firm where merit is identified and recognised appropriately."
