Mike Moodie has been promoted to the newly created position of vice-president and managing director of ultra high net worth (UHNW) at RBC Wealth Management - British Isles and Caribbean.

The role forms part of the firm's strategy to increase its attention on international UHNW clients, especially those from emerging markets who use London for wealth management services.

Moodie, previously head of RBC Management UK, will continue to be London-based and begins his new role on 1 September 2013. He will report to both head of RBC Wealth Management for British Isles and Caribbean Stuart Rutledge, and deputy chairman, UHNW Paul Patterson.

Patterson said: "With over 28 years of service within RBC overseeing the development and servicing of (U)HNW clients, including senior leadership positions in Canada, the Caribbean, the US and the UK, we know that Mike is well placed for continued success in his new role."

Also effective from 1 September, Philip Harris, head, private client wealth management, UK, joins the British Isles and Caribbean operating committee, reporting to Rutledge.
