The Solicitors Regulation Authority (SRA) has appointed Julie Brannan as its director of education and training.

Brannan, who joins the regulator from Oxford Brookes University, will lead its work to introduce “wide-ranging changes” to the UK’s legal education and training framework.

A qualified solicitor, Brannan started her career at Herbert Smith before becoming an international commercial litigation partner.

She later went on to become director of the Oxford Institute of Legal Practice and then head of knowledge exchange and business development in the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences at Oxford Brookes University.
