Gavin Tyler has been elected as the next managing partner of top-200 UK law firm Cripps Harries Hall.

He takes over on 1 May 2013 from Jonathan Denny, who is stepping down at the end of his fifth term as managing partner, having held the role for 23 years.

Said the firm’s senior partner, Michael Stevens: “Gavin has been integral in driving the firm’s strategy forward. He has a passion for inspiring, motivating and developing our people, supporting the local community and, most importantly, for providing an excellent service to our clients.”

Added Tyler: “I am inheriting a very strong and well-managed practice from Jonathan, and I intend to build on these foundations.”

Denny will continue to be involved in shaping the firm’s strategy as a non-executive director on its partnership board.

Tyler, who trained as a general litigator, became a partner in 1990, was a member of the firm’s partnership board from 2004 to 2010, and became head of its corporate division in 2008.
