A new brand identity has been launched today for Cyril Amarchand Mangaldas.

The firm has also announced the formation of an external strategic advisory board, which is expected to guide the firm on its vision, strategy, direction and identify new opportunities.

"Cyril Amarchand Mangaldas is like a start-up with a 97 years old history," said Cyril Shroff, managing partner at Cyril Amarchand Mangaldas.

"So, while we are unveiling a new identity, the values and the principles that we have internalised are nearly a hundred years old but continue to be relevant and important today. It is like a reincarnation as we take this new identity but with same legacy into a new dawn.

"It reflects our aspiration to be the top legal services firm from Asia by 2025."

The logo features a 'ring of gold' surrounding a violet disk, overlaid with the letters 'CAM' and a gold dot. The brand identity was designed by Interbrand.

Cyril Amarchand Mangaldas was founded from legacy firm Amarchand Mangaldas, which was India's largest law firm until its dissolution on 9 May 2015.

Shardul Amarchand Mangaldas & Co (SAM & Co) was also formed on the same day, with managing partner Shardul Shroff at the helm.

SAM & Co recently announced that it had won exclusive membership for India of Lex Mundi, of which the legacy firm had previously been a member.

The new branding for Cyril Amarchand Mangaldas was launched today in commemoration of its first 'Founder's Day'.

Today would have been the 84th birthday of the late Suresh Amarchand Shroff, who established the legacy firm.
